Catie Lewis is an oil painter and muralist living and working in Connecticut.
She began practicing art professionally in 2019 after moving to Austin, TX, and being introduced to the rich creative community there. She has since stretched her capabilities across many styles and mediums before landing on her love for oil painting and large-scale murals.
Catie has exhibited work at her solo exhibitions, ORIGINS, and Places That I Carry in 2022 in addition to various group shows in Texas and Connecticut. She has participated in artist residencies with non-profits Future Front ATX and Deeds Not Words in Texas and LokalLab in Siargao, Philippines. Apart from her personal artwork, she’s also painted murals for Soho House, Google, and Lexus.
Catie’s current work is heavily inspired by her Filipino heritage and the core memories from her life that she carries with her each day. From her travels to the people around her and her own experiences as a queer woman of color, Catie uses oil paint to translate these pivotal moments of self-transformation on canvas.
